The remote only works when it is attached to a computer or TV, like you are using it as a webcam. If you can figure out all the menus, then do it again for the remote, you are way ahead of me!
I need a new video camera as my old HD camera that I use in my Youtube videos no longer works, and is ten years old anyway. Just wondering if it comes with any editing software, like a CD? Also, what size memory card would be good? My the memory card for my old HD camera was only 4GB, I would imagine that for 2.7k it would need to be much larger.

Red circle button on cameras is usually record button. Its also the symbol for recording in the ui of most cam.
