Since its inception over 20 years ago, Portugal’s Moonspell has been spreading a mystical aura throughout the metal scene. With ten full-length albums of extraordinary depth and diversity of sounds, Moonspell has developed a strong cult audience around the globe. However, due to lack of a strong touring presence in America, the band has never broken through to the next level of notoriety.
I always wanted to make a video for Bloodsoaked and I am so happy with the new CD that once I had the chance I took it. It was filmed in a abandoned warehouse and the cut in scenes were from the directors independent horror movies. It was a great experience and has been one thing that has brought a lot of attention to Bloodsoaked.
Formed in 1995, original vocalist Bjorn “Speed” Strid and his five bandmates undertook the daring and risky endeavor of releasing a double album on March 5 called The Living Infinite. But as evidenced by the video for one of those 20 songs, “Rise Above The Sentiment,” Soilwork doesn’t take itself too seriously just because it’s a death metal band.

Albany isn’t an easy scene for metal, with the overwhelming number of hardcore acts in Albany and Troy, but Of Gods and Destroyers makes that work for them, through musical ingenuity and distance from the scene. “It’s weird, man,” Crossett said. “We’re just metal enough for the metal fans and just hardcore enough for the hardcore kids. We’re always walking that line.” The band is still looking for more shows, though. “I don’t know, the scene in Albany, there are some bigger shows we wish we could get on, we play the shows we can get, but we just have to keep sticking with it,” said Crossett.
When you meet a guy at a concert, you already know you have something in common. Taste in music. You have a shared interest and can use that as a topic of conversation to get to know each other better. You can talk about what other bands or singers you like, who else you’ve seen perform, and why you decided to go to this show. You can dance together or sing really badly. This type of venue also give you the chance to see which guys are willing to have fun and how they let their hair down. Plus, there’s always the opportunity to “accidentally” bump into someone and blame it on the crowd. You can use this chance to introduce yourself.
