Metal Music Genre – Death Metal
The breakdown itself is thematically appropriate, as it has the strict, marked beat of a march. But in reality, we had a blast in Vegas- but it was filmed all night on a Monday- totally dead night there.
On October 22, Albuquerque’s Sunshine Theater presents the “For We are Many” Tour. On stage will be All that Remains, Asking Alexandria, Born of Osiris, and And She Whispered. Doors for this all-ages event (bar with proper ID) open at 7:00 pm, with the show scheduled from 8:00 pm to midnight. Tickets are only $18.
It’s important to remember that this was a time when mainstream newspapers did not cover metal shows, unless it was the “safer” heavy metal of the day like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Motorhead. Even that was controversial, as Judas Priest had just been hauled into court for allegedly using backward masking to encourage teens to commit suicide.
And here’s the moment of truth. The first strokes on the keyboard and the work of genius is about to be born! But something is still wrong. Something hinders smooth writing and your wonderful ideas bounce like mercury balls from the broken thermometer. Wait, don’t get mad, it’s always like this with essay writing: it’s more about re-processing others’ ideas than generating your own. “So why bother?” – you might ask. “That’s why!” – I’ll respond. The fact that they are operated through a remote control that resembles a video game controller. It’s like watching them play a video game but for real. The robots are huge and very life like. This is definitely a heart warming story as well. It reminds you of the “Rocky” movies with the same fighting against all odds theme. You will find your self cheering. It deserves 5 out of 5 popcorn bags.
Your lyrics are infused with heavy detail and raw emotion. What is it that normally gives you inspiration when writing lyrics and is there a concept behind the music you create?
A: The origin of the magazine came from Jeff Rappaport. When he was working at the comic store he decided to put together a magazine in hopes of being able to talk to his favorite guitar player, Jeff Waters of Annihilator. He put the first issue together and it was a bit rough looking. He then recruited Jeremy Pelligrin and Josh Williams to help with the artwork and layout and Joe Kucharski to help with the editing. The look of issue 1 compared to issue 2 is like night and day. I didn’t officially come on board until issue 4 in which I transcribed the Michael Sweet (Stryper) interview. Rob joined up later on as the photo guy and probably other things.
In searching for the true meaning of alternative music, I believe I have found that no matter what genre an artist is labeled, as long as it’s fresh, with a unique sound, noteworthy lyrics and a persistent artist behind it, it fits. I hope to bring you more articles with a broad spectrum of new and exciting music that can be found right here in our own neighborhood.
