Have your child decorate the exterior of the container with traditional Jewish symbols, such as the shofar. Tracing its origins back more than five thousand years, the shofar is one of the oldest wind instruments in recorded history.
Now the interesting thing is that I always thought that I was alone in my dislike for honey cake, but when I got married, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that my wife also did not care for it. So our Rosh Hashanah cuisine always consisted of traditionally sweet foods but the cake of choice was not honey.
For those “poor” Jewish souls, however, who don’t have or can’t afford a member ship to a synagogue, when Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur – the most important holidays of the year (with the exception of Shabbat) – come around each year, the Jewish community leaves them out in the cold with nowhere to pray. And each year, I am amazed, appalled and angered by this fact.
Challah (bread) for the New Year is often made with either a sweet dough, or sweet fruit, like raisins baked into it. Specially-shaped challah is eaten instead of the usual plaited challah that is eaten on Shabbat (Jewish Sabbath). The challah is round to signify a long life span and a smooth, even year.

By Saturday, September 6th, we may be experiencing some frustrations, and our energy could be low. Those of us who over did it this past week may find we hit burnout this weekend. There could be some miscommunications and travel problems on Sunday and Monday. Especially Monday, September 8th, with Pluto and Jupiter at direct station on that day. There could also be money and family problems surfacing on Monday and Tuesday.
