This year, have your children prepare parts of Rosh Hashanah. Serving drinks in normal glass tumblers or cups just isn’t appropriate for a fine dining occasion. This fit the timing for the trumpets in Leviticus 23:24-27.
Stick to tradition if you haven’t, and break it if you have. Tradition is a very important part of being Jewish, but not everyone is a traditionalist. You should certainly serve apples and bits of challah to be dipped in honey, but you should say the traditional prayers before anyone takes a bite.

Peter has the right motives, but the wrong understanding. Jesus corrects him: Let Me serve you. You cannot be My disciple otherwise. Why? Because you must be all about emptying yourself and serving others – all the time – as you spread My Good News to all nations.
Rosh Hashanah is more than about food, but the symbolism of the High Holy Day. While called the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah is actually a day of remembrance and judgment. Jewish people around the world celebrate this day with great food and hope for the coming year.
