It’s one thing when a seasoned band like Dinosaur Jr. comes to the neighborhood for a one-of-a-kind show. It was your “journey.” We all had our own to deal with. I am happiest with the response and how many people have been inspired by it.
Naughty by Nature is a Grammy Award-winning American hip hop trio from East Orange, New Jersey that at the time of its formation in 1989 consisted of Treach, Vin Rock, and the DJ Kay Gee. They are known for being one of the few rap acts who were able to balance success on the pop charts with hardcore rap credibility.
There are lots of other music genres some of which are well-known. This music is thought for coming about a figure mix figure of another musical genre mostly trance and rave song. Examiner: You definitely came to be a figurehead in the late-90s underground boom in New York. Can you tell me what types of things you thought really made that scene special, really made it something like a movement?
I am happiest with the response and how many people have been inspired by it. Hearing “I don’t listen to breaks and never really liked it before I heard your CD” is really what it is all about for me. I think that if you can open up someone to your genre, then you have done your job perfectly and possibly made a new fan.
There were occasions of “mass hallucinations”- things felt and seen by multitudes of different folks on different drugs- some even sober (granted, not many). The music itself seemed to have a hallucinogenic power- and if you could create a beautiful painting with your music- you would literally become a “God” in the scene.
The Spring Massive at the Paradox is gonna be insane as will Starscape 2009. I am also headlining this huge three-day festival alongside DJ Swamp and like 50 others called Willy Wonka and the Bass Factory on June 19-21 in West Virginia, which I am sure will be an experience!
