I have several collections that I have displayed on the kitchen walls. Plays some 45 different sounds and a hundred or so songs. The show has already sold out, however, despite the $81.50 ticket price.
Interesting the old school underground has been rising lately. I thought it was just wishful thinking on my part, but starting with that article on hipster metal, people have been abandoning the post-1996 metal in droves and returning to the old school.

We visited the Key West lighthouse in January 2012 on a nice sunny day, so were able to take some nice pictures from the observation deck at the top. The Key West lighthouse is not an active lighthouse any more, but it is open to the public. You can take a tour of the lighthouse and other buildings on its site. The other buildings on the site include a keeper’s dwelling, a privy, an oil storage house and a chicken coop.

A: The origin of the magazine came from Jeff Rappaport. When he was working at the comic store he decided to put together a magazine in hopes of being able to talk to his favorite guitar player, Jeff Waters of Annihilator. He put the first issue together and it was a bit rough looking. He then recruited Jeremy Pelligrin and Josh Williams to help with the artwork and layout and Joe Kucharski to help with the editing. The look of issue 1 compared to issue 2 is like night and day. I didn’t officially come on board until issue 4 in which I transcribed the Michael Sweet (Stryper) interview. Rob joined up later on as the photo guy and probably other things.

Since titanium is corrosion resistant, it’s the perfect metal for rings that will be on hands. Many people forget to remove their wedding rings before swimming or getting chemicals on themselves. Fortunately, this metal won’t be affected if that happens and will still be in great condition for years to come.

From out of Arizona come Godhunter, which describe their sound as “black metal from the trailer park.” The band has posted some live tracks, as well as some demo recordings, so check them out on their myspace site.

So there sat Fred Grosse of a cold winter’s afternoon in a dank and dripping basement listening to Mr. Neil Grimes sing the fair Allison’s praises as his nose ran in synch to the dripping of the overhead pipes.

Ponce Deleon is the tallest lighthouse on the East Coast of Florida. It is 175 feet tall and has a 213 step spiral staircase that you take to the top. Please make sure you’re in good shape because it a pretty good workout, especially on a hot Florida day. The spectacular Lens Exhibit Building features a first-order lens that was from the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse, the original Ponce Inlet first order lens, a fourth order clam shell lens, a 6th order rotating lens, and a Chance Brothers circa 1850 third order middle lens complete with pedestal, tanks and lamp.

Jos. A. Smith: Although not exactly an album cover artist, he happened to draw one of the most widely known icons of metal: the Bathory goat (read the story behind it here). Not too long ago, one of his pieces was used for Averse Sefira’s latest album.
